It's Spring in the Greenhouse

We have been busy since early February in the greenhouse starting seeds and growing plants. We are focusing on produce plants that we can sell from the farm, at the farmers market and a local feed and seed store. We are also growing some flowers for sale and then plants for our gardens. We sell our produce at the Ashland farmers market. Our produce is organically grown and in the greenhouse we only use soil, seeds, water and a natural fertilizer derived from soybeans. We do not use any pesticides that would not comply with organic standards and so far we have not used anything. Pests are not really a problem in the garden, but they can occasionally move into the comfortable environment of the greenhouse.

Below are some photos taken on March 13th. The first of the cole crops (broccoli, cabbages, cauliflower, brussell sprouts) are ready to go, and lettuces and more are right behind them. The first tomatoes, peppers and eggplant have been started. We even have tomatoes in one gallons getting some good size.

Our plants are for sale from the farm as well as the farmers market. Please call or email before driving out to the farm so that one of us will be sure to be here.

Thanks, Bruce
